Empowering teen moms: 600,000 teens become pregnant each year.  Generation Her is doing something about it.
About us:
Generation Her is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was founded in 2009.  Created from a lack of existing services for teen moms and pregnant teens, we wanted to give teen moms a positive place where they felt loved instead of judged.
We offer a weekly program consisting of in person and online classes that provide early motherhood education, life skills and parenting classes for teen mothers and pregnant teens at our 3 locations throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. Generation Her encourages setting educational and career goals for each young mother that we work with and walks beside her for years to accomplish her goals as well as to provide a safe place of encouragement, hope and support through mentors and their fellow community of teenage mothers. Generation Her encourages independence through teaching life skill classes such as; budgeting, money management, job interviewing skills, parenting, resume building, cooking, self defense, nutrition, stress and anger management, relationship workshops and so much more. Generation Her is not only changing lives in the world of teen moms, it is also changing the community. The impact of a young mother who will not stay on welfare throughout her lifetime and who is going to give her and her child a brighter future leads to a better economy and society.
Through working with our young mothers, we are able to change negative generational cycles and make a positive generational impact that will last for generations.

51% of teen moms never graduate High School, while over 90 % of Generation Her moms are graduating or acquiring a GED.
Goals for each mom:
Fulfill their education and career goals
Be financially independent for a lifetime
Be a healthy, nurturing mother
Connect them to a supportive community and adult mentors

To accomplish these goals Generation Her provides:

One-on-one mentor relationships

Why is Generation Her important?
We have been a trail blazer program in America, created to specifically serve teen mothers.
We are training young mothers in parenting and self sufficiency as we transition them into adulthood.
We have served over 3,000 young mothers and counting.
Our programs are holistic, encompassing all aspects of motherhood, including physical, mental, and social emotional health.
Our program is designed to walk through life with the young mothers we serve on a regular basis. We aim to be the village it takes that surrounds them as they parent.
75% of our young mothers are single mothers. Motherhood is hard enough at any age, so trying to strive as a young single mother can be an uphill battle.  Generation Her is a vital lifeline and resource for these young women.
