Stats from Teen Mom MTV Finale Reunion
Teen pregnancy is finally going down. The United States has the largest number of teen pregnancies of any developed nation in the world. Current television shows, movies, magazines, and popular music exposes teenagers like you to the idea of teen pregnancy and teen parenthood without fully showing the hardships, struggles and consequences that real teen moms face. Generation Her wants to make you aware that “It’s YOUR Choice” to make decisions about abstinence or safe sex. Pregnancy and STDs are 100% preventable through abstinence. It’s YOUR body and you, as a teenage girl are worthy of a guy who will respect you enough to wait until you are ready. 60% of sexually active teens say they wish they waited longer. Sexual activity can lead to unhealthy emotional attachments, STDs that can stay with you forever, and unplanned pregnancy. The consequences of sexual activity far outweigh the rush of the moment.
For teen think about this:
Write down the goals for your life in the next 3 years.
Now write down your goals for the next 5 years. Is college in the picture? Dorms? Dates? New friends? Fun? What will that look like if you have a baby?
What are 3 things you dream of for your future children? Can you give them this from being a teen mom?
It’s YOUR Choice what your future will look like when you make safe decisions about your body and sex.
